Fujitsu Enhances "GLOVIA" ERP Solutions Series
- New Offerings Include Administrative/Consolidated Accounting Application from Hyperion -
Tokyo, October 21, 1998 - Fujitsu Limited today announced a major upgrading of its GLOVIA ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution series. In addition to offering a new analytic application for multi-source financial consolidation, called Hyperion Enterprise*, other accounting and manufacturing information systems solutions have been strengthened.
Since June 1996, Fujitsu has delivered GLOVIA series ERP solutions to some 800 systems in companies around the world. In June of this year, the company added GLOVIA-C to its line-up to respond to a wide variety of needs of medium-size companies. In addition, Fujitsu has initiated tie-ups with a number of well-known software vendors throughout the world in order to enhance the range and functionality of its solutions. For example, in March of this year, in cooperation with Manugistics Corp. of the U.S., Fujitsu began offering the Manugistics customer-centric supply chain management optimization solution.
The GLOVIA solutions enhancements announced today address the rising demand for systems that can help facilitate rapid decisions and more efficient management, particularly for the large number of Japanese companies that are modifying their accounting systems to adhere to global standards by March 2000.
In cooperation with California-based Hyperion Solutions, an experienced accounting and financial management software company, Fujitsu is offering Hyperion Enterprise, an analytic application for multi-source financial consolidation for statuatory and management purposes that facilitates construction of systems for accounting and financial management analysis and also handles the transition to global accounting systems. Thanks to a common subject structure and other platform similarities, it can be closely linked with GLOVIA/Financials accounting information systems. To optimize customers' ERP implementation, Fujitsu provides full support at every stage, from initial consulting to system construction and operation.
In addition, Fujitsu has augmented its GLOVIA/Financials solution with an accounting data warehousing function that can store, retrieve, process and aggregate massive amounts of data at a high speed. GLOVIA/Manufacturing also has been enhanced with a new function that allows management of project-type production in addition to already-available MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and serial number management.
