Tokyo, June 26, 2000 -- Fujitsu Limited today announced that it has
developed tr@nslingo, a new server-resident web-based translation
system that utilizes parallel processing to deliver high-quality
Japanese-English and English-Japanese translations over a corporate
Intranet at very high speeds. Incorporating thread tuning for
optimizing multiple CPU usage and taking advantage of the server's
large memory space, tr@nslingo is capable of processing an A4 page-
size (210mm x 297mm) translation within a second, even under
high-load multi-user conditions. Locating the translation engine
on a company's Intranet server enables consistent, high-quality
translation results to be retrieved quickly and easily from
anywhere within the Intranet. Fujitsu will demonstrate the
tr@nslingo system at PC Expo 2000 in New York from June 27-29
(booth #1313).
Despite the greater ease of international communication brought
about by the advent of the Internet, language barriers continue to
represent one of the highest hurdles facing companies seeking to
keep up with the quickening pace of corporate globalization.
Fujitsu's tr@nslingo aims to help companies needing to communicate
between multiple locations in Japanese and English surmount this
obstacle by providing an intranet-based tool for faster and more
accurate communication.
In addition to the advantage of higher speed, tr@nslingo users
can build their own dictionaries for special projects and
corporate-specific terms, thereby allowing for more accurate and
standardized translation results. Moreover, because the
dictionaries reside on the server, they can be shared across the
corporation, without impacting the load on individual client
terminals.
tr@nslingo will be available from November 2000.
