Tokyo, May 31, 2000 -- Fujitsu Limited announced today that it will
commence sales of a new notebook PC for customers in Japan who
wish to use an English operating system. The new LifeBook E-6170,
which runs on the English version of Microsoft Windows 98 (second
edition) is based on models already available in the U.S. and Europe
through Fujitsu PC Corporation (FPC) and Fujitsu Siemens Computers
(FSC), respectively, as well as in some parts of Asia. Support,
including repairs and technical consultation, will be provided by
Fujitsu in 22 countries(*1) around the world.
Equipped with a 14.1 inch XGA TFT display and a Mobile Intel Celeron
500MHz processor, and with a slim profile of just 32.8mm (*2), the
LifeBook E-6170 comes with US101-compatible keyboard and a flexible
multi-function bay for easy expandability. It also features convenient
"one-touch" buttons for launching applications with a single touch.
