- New Models for Workgroup and Departmental Computing -
Enhancing its existing range of systems for workgroup computing with a fourth model, the new teamserver C870i is a dual processor-capable system that provides an excellent power gradient for high-end Web, LAN or application- based business. Compact for office deployment, it is also rackmountable for ease of systems management in the data center. The C870i supports 36GB of disk storage internally and over 600GB in a rackmounted format.
Strengthening its larger teamserver G800i range of departmental servers, Fujitsu's new teamserver G870i supports up to two Pentium III 500MHz processors and makes an ideal and very powerful web server and business application engine. Offering up to 2GB of main memory and with Ultra2Wide as standard for access to its larger disk storage capacity, the G870i boasts significant improvements in price/performance -- with a price increase well under 10% above previous Pentium II 450MHz models -- as well as Fujitsu's usual high level of system reliability.
"Building reliable and competitive servers is a process of continual improvement and innovation, "said Mr. Kazuto Kojima, Senior Vice President, Fujitsu Limited. "We are proud of our ability to deliver the latest in top-class technology as soon as it becomes available. Our aim is to provide the best price/performance and functionality to meet our customers' business needs and expectations."
All teamservers from Fujitsu Limited feature as standard equipment LDSM server management and Fujitsu's SystemWalker systems management client to facilitate remote management. Shipment of the new C870i and G870i models will commence at the end of March.
