Tokyo, Feb. 5, 1998 -- Fujitsu Limited today introduced a new line-up of its popular FMV-BIBLO series of notebook computers incorporating superior features and enhanced functionality. The new line-up comprises 10 new model types with a total of 25 different models, from high-end business-oriented machines to a range of all-in-one models bundled with a host of useful and entertaining software.

All the models employ the latest MMX Pentium processors of 166 MHz and above, and are fitted with SDRAM memory with speeds similar to earlier models. The combination of more powerful processors and ample memory makes for the smoothest operating environment in this category and greatly enhances the FMV-BIBLO's basic performance levels.

In the NP series of slim, A4 file-size, all-in-one models, a new attraction is the NP 16D, featuring an HPA liquid crystal display. These screens are easy on the eyes -- approaching the visual quality offered by TFT crystals -- and are twice as responsive and offer 1.3 times the contrast than the previously-used DSTN crystals. A price point of 358,000 yen makes the NP 16D an attractive buy. Another model, the NP 20, is being offered with a TFT color display, presenting an even more comfortable mobile computing environment.

Fujitsu has also greatly improved the overall price-performance ratio of the FMV-BIBLO line-up by introducing an entry-level model in our user-friendly NU series, which comes with a 166MHz Pentium MMX processor (1.2 times faster than the previous comparable model) and a large-capacity 2.1 GB hard disk.

Our new, full-fledged line-up of 5 model types and 14 models of all-in-one notebooks lets users handle a variety of applications with ever-increasing ease and comfort. Furthermore, the models come pre-installed with a variety of convenient and useful software from Fujitsu's popular DESKPOWER series, including the "The Life Plan," which simulates the future course of the user's life. We have rounded out our offerings of software and manuals that allow users to enjoy their computers, including a manual called "Fun with Digital Photos," which presents detailed instruction on how to create and manipulate digital images.

In our business-oriented models, Fujitsu has substantially increased the range of choices offered to business users seeking high performance. Our high-end NA series, equipped with a 100 BASE-TXLAN function, now has an entry-level model, the 2500NA8/X, with a 13.3-in. liquid crystal display (1024x 768 pixels) and a 200MHx Pentium MMX processor.

While the all-in-one models, comprising the NU/NP series, have significantly improved their basic performance, we have expanded the line-up of our business-oriented computers, now consisting of 5 model types and 11 models, and greatly enhanced their ease-of-use in everything from network computing to mobile applications.
