The products comply with the Miniature card specification which has been established by the MCIF (Miniature Card Implementers Forum). Although they are compact (38 mm x 33 mm x 3.5 mm), they provide a maximum capacity of 8 Mbytes (incorporate four 16 Mbit flash memories) with a 5 Volt single supply. In addition, 3.3 Volt single-supply types are simultaneously released. A full lineup (6 different types) is offered to meet your diversified needs.

These Miniature cards are smaller than any other competing standards. These flash memory Miniature cards permit data rewriting and retain their stored information even after power is turned OFF. Therefore, they are suitable as the removable storage media for digital cameras, digital audio recorders, cellular phones, portable computers, and other battery-powered portable products.

It is estimated that the world's production of small form factor flash cards, which are mainly used in the above-mentioned fields, will rapidly increase to about 1,050,000 cards in 1998 and 5,000,000 cards in 2000 (source: In-Stat,1996.6)
