Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has enlisted Seibold Security Inc. as its exclusive business partner for Fujitsu's Series 8000 and Series 7000 automated-teller machines (ATMs) in the upstate New York area. Rochester, N.Y.-based Seibold will sell, install, service and upgrade Fujitsu's ATMs, targeting mid-size financial institutions.

Fujitsu Computer Systems announced it achieved record-breaking growth in 2003 by increasing its year-on-year number of U.S. portable shipments by 53 percent from 2002. Fujitsu attributes its success to the third and fourth quarters of 2003 in which the company experienced its highest jump in year-on-year growth for U.S. portable shipments.

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, announced that it will demonstrate its 2.5" Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive for next generation storage solutions at Serial ATA Plugfest 2004. Fujitsu unveiled the industry's sole 2.5" SATA hard disk drive in December, 2003.

- Fujitsu Siemens Computers to add new Intel Xeon MP processors to its PRIMERGY Servers (Fujitsu Siemens Computers - Munich, Germany)
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is set to directly boost performance by up to 41 percent when it introduces new servers from its PRIMERGY RX600 and TX600 ranges. The latest models will be based on new Intel Xeon multiprocessor technology, with clock rates of up to 3 GHz, and can be equipped with as many as four processors. The doubling of third level cache to 2 or 4 MB, as well as the 400 MHz front side bus, guarantee higher performance bandwidths perfectly suited to current and future requirements. Entry-level prices are 10,000 euros for the TX600 with its new processor and 11,000 euros for the RX600 (prices include VAT in Germany).

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, announced the introduction of its new Fujitsu fi-5750C color, low-volume production scanner equipped with the latest breakthroughs in document imaging technology and features. The Fujitsu fi-5750C, which will officially be unveiled at AIIM 2004 Exposition and Conference, March 8-10 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, includes state of the art ultrasonic double-feed detection technology, allowing users to prevent lost images and enabling larger batches of mixed document types to be scanned quickly, reliably, and automatically.

- Fujitsu Unveils New Enterprise 300GB Hard Drives with 4-Platter Design (Fujitsu Limited - Tokyo, Japan)
Fujitsu Limited announced the introduction of two new series of 3.5-inch enterprise hard disk drives that deliver superior levels of performance and storage capacity. The MAT series, featuring spindle speeds of 10K rotations per minute (rpm), offers storage capacity of up to 300 gigabytes (GB) with 4-platter design. The MAU series, featuring spindle speeds of 15K rpm, offers up to 147GB in storage capacity. Both are available in three capacity points and two different types of interfaces. The new hard drives deliver the superior levels of performance and reliability required of today's enterprise systems, from servers to storage systems.

- Fujitsu Develops World's First Multi-layer PCB Capable of 5Gbps Transmission and 4000 Pin Mounting (Fujitsu Laboratories and Fujitsu Limited - Tokyo, Japan)
Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies Ltd., and Fujitsu Limited announced the joint development of new manufacturing technologies for large-sized, high-count multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) that enable support of 5Gigabits per second (5Gbps) high-speed transmission and 4000 pin high-density mounting (0.8mm pitch). Fujitsu's new technologies succeed in improving manufacturing yields and significantly reducing production time for high-count multi-layer PCBs. The technologies were developed for use in such areas as next-generation, high-speed servers and telecommunication base station equipment, which demand fast transmission speeds and high-density mounting.
