- Fujitsu Sees Record Demand for Interstage Suite (Fujitsu Software Corp. - Sunnyvale, US)
Fujitsu Software Corporation announced a global surge in demand for its Interstage Suite, one of the world's broadest lines of application infrastructure software products. In the last nine months of 2003, sales tripled as customers and partners worldwide made Interstage Suite products their solutions of choice to design, develop and manage their customized, mission-critical applications.

Mid-sized retailers will now have affordable access to the advanced retail technologies
their larger competitors already enjoy, due to a new offering from Fujitsu Services, one
of Europe's leading IT infrastructure management services companies. The new retail
offering will allow retailers to solve the problem of integrating Chip and PIN into their
existing Electronic Point of Sale systems, and will also open the door to advanced

- Fujitsu Launches High-Performance Optical Disk Reader
for DICOM Imaging Viewing (Fujitsu Computer Products of America - San Jose, US)
Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a
leading provider of removable storage solutions, unveiled its high-performance optical disk DICOM image viewing solution, the DynaMO 1300
Pocket with DICOM Viewer. The solution bundles an ultra-portable, high-
performance Fujitsu 1.3GB Magneto-Optical drive with DICOM image
viewing software. Fujitsu will demonstrate how ultrasound and healthcare
professionals can easily transport DICOM images and data on 3.5-inch MO
disks from medical imaging equipment to notebook PCs and workstations
for convenient offline review at the Healthcare Information and Management
Systems Society 2004 Conference and Exhibition, February 22 - 26
in Orlando, Florida.

solution from WIDCOMM (Fujitsu Siemens Computers - Munich, Germany)
Starting immediately, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is shipping its
lightweight LIFEBOOK S Series notebooks with optional Bluetooth wireless technology
as well as its CONNECT2AIR Bluetooth USB dongle with the latest Bluetooth solution
from WIDCOMM. This enables printer, keyboard and mouse to connect to PCs and
notebooks without unwieldy cables. Other highlights include data synchronization
between notebooks and handhelds and data exchange with Bluetooth systems from other
vendors, as WIDCOMM software supports all major Bluetooth standards.

announced at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference 2004 the formation
of a Multi-Source Agreement to establish compatible sources of 10Gbit/s Transmitter
Optical Sub-Assembly and Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly for use in the
10 Gbit/s XFP MSA defined module. This initiative standardizes the common mechanical
dimensions, footprint and pin functions of the TOSA/ROSA devices; key compact optical
components used in XFP modules.

- FCSI announces a new Modulator Integrated DFB (Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor, Inc. - San Jose, US)
Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor, Inc.
announces a new Modulator Integrated DFB Laser with an integrated
Fabry-Perot etalon for wavelength locking. The FLD5F20CE-Exxxx is for 9.95328
Gb/s Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing applications. The transmission
capacity is up to 1600 ps/nm corresponding to 80km. The FLD5F20CE-Exxxx can be
tuned to an ITU-T 50GHz spaced channel in the C-band via adjustment of chip
temperature with the included TEC. The included wavelength locker allows the
output wavelength to be locked to an ITU-T grid channel and to remove any
wavelength drift that may arise from the MI-DFB laser over its lifetime or
case temperature variations. This device comes in a compact 7 pin package
with a GPO connector for modulation voltage. This laser is available at any
of the 85 ITU-T channels in the C-band (191.8-196.0 THz).
