Fujitsu Introduces SystemWalker V.10 Integrated Operations Management Solution for the Broadband Internet Era

Tokyo, November 8, 2001---Fujitsu Limited today introduced SystemWalker Version 10, enhancing the company's successful integrated operations management software solution with various new features to enable more powerful IT management and tighter integration in the broadband Internet era. For the SystemWalker V.10 release in Japan, this includes a link to another new offering, SystemWalker Technical Desk Service, which enables users to download over 50 categories of Fujitsu's extensive operations management knowledge over the Internet. This function helps simplify and speed construction of operations management systems, as well as reduce time and costs associated with implementing changes to system environments.

With broadband Internet access becoming more widespread, businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, hospitals, and households alike are all connected to the Internet through different sorts of computers, making it all the more important that operations management move beyond the walls of any one company or institution. SystemWalker V.10 enables large-scale system users to respond quickly and flexibly to this complex and constantly evolving environment. It is equipped with multi-platform management functions for all major operating systems, middleware packages, database systems, and storage architectures, as well as a wide array of advanced functions, including B2B e-commerce functions and PDA and IPv6 network management.

To fully leverage the efficient broadband environment, SystemWalker V.10 offers a Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring function for managing total response and throughput from the end user to the server. In addition, along with fast backup for all major databases programs (SymfoWare Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, etc), it enables efficient management of Storage Area Network environments to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Besides the aforementioned link with SystemWalker Technical Desk Service - an industry first - SystemWalker V.10 Japan release also provides an ideal solution for integrated management of electronic data flows for "e-Japan" electronic government implementations. Existing forms can be easily converted into digital format without having to modify applications. In addition to making them accessible via the web, the new SystemWalker solution provides a uniform way to manage forms, including XML forms. Extensive security features are also provided, including single sign-on, unified account management, tamper detection, and Government Public-Key Infrastructure (GPKI).

SystemWalker V.10 will be available globally through Fujitsu Limited and its group company affiliates from the end of this month.
