Tokyo, October 18, 2001--- Fujitsu Limited announced today the
introduction of new Intel(R) architecture-based PRIMERGY servers with
extended features for data center and broadband processing
requirements, where high-end power and service flexibility have become
essential. The new enhancements, which include faster processors,
GigaLAN copper networking technology, and dramatically increased
internal disk and cache memory capacity, further consolidate
PRIMERGY's position as the ideal enterprise-class vehicle for web-
based streaming, secure retailing, database access and other broadband
Internet-delivered computing tasks.

[New Product Highlights]

The new PRIMERGY offerings include:
- New data center and application engine models using 900MHz Intel Pentium(R) III Xeon(TM) processors,
 - 1.26GHz-S Intel Pentium III processor models for 2-way in-office or rack mounted enterprise servers, and
 - 1.13GHz-S Intel Pentium III processor models for use in delivering shared hosting services to larger populations of web-users.

Web hosting thin servers:
Shipping mid-November, PRIMERGY TS225 two-way capable 1U rack mounted
servers will come with up to two 1.13GHz-S processors with 512KB cache
inside, and provide improved, incremental and cost-effective
flexibility for managing Internet traffic increases and web-hosting
demands.

Popular two-way servers:
Also shipping from mid-November, new PRIMERGY ES320 two-way capable,
general purpose, in-office or rack, enterprise servers will scale to
1.26GHz, and from mid-December double internal disk capacity from
182GB to 364GB, making them a lower cost alternative for larger
database applications.

Data center computing:
Also in November, at the high-end of the range, PRIMERGY N400 and
N800 rack-optimized 4- and 8-way Intel Pentium III Xeon processor-
based data center servers will provide 900MHz with 2MB cache, as well
as 700Mhz, 1 or 2MB cache options. These enhancements will allow
mission-critical database applications to better manage increased
transaction traffic arising from increased Internet and broadband use.
Multi-purpose PRIMERGY MS610 4-way severs will also move to 900MHz
processors, feature GigaLAN access and, for improved high-availability
and throughput, new high-end RAID capability.
