Fujitsu Introduces ATLAS V8 and ATLAS Translation Server 2002
Improved translation system for accelerating global business

Tokyo, October 10, 2001---Fujitsu Limited announced today that it has developed two new English-Japanese / Japanese-English translation software products: ATLAS V8 for personal use with single license, and ATLAS Translation Server 2002, server software supporting multiple CPU parallel processing. The new products will be distributed through Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Middleware Ltd.
Approximately 300,000 words have been added to ATLAS V8's standard dictionary, making it the largest compilation of words among existing translation software (totaling 560,000 words in the English-Japanese dictionary and 580,000 words in the Japanese-English dictionary). Compared to ATLAS V7, the new software offers a 16% increase in translation quality(*1) and a 10% reduction in translation costs(*2).
ATLAS Translation Server 2002 can be accessed from a web browser with no need for installation on client machines. An unlimited number of users may use the software without client licenses.
