Fujitsu to Consolidate Global IT Solutions Brand

Flagship Services Subsidiaries ICL and DMR Consulting to Adopt
Fujitsu Corporate Name

Tokyo/London/New York, June 21, 2001---Fujitsu Limited announced today that it will fully transition its flagship overseas IT services and consulting subsidiaries, ICL and DMR Consulting, to the Fujitsu corporate name as part of an effort to strengthen its global IT solutions brand. Already among the world's top three services groups, with more than 2 trillion yen (US$16.3 billion) in consolidated services and software revenue and active in over 50 countries, Fujitsu intends to further build on its leadership position by leveraging and enhancing the individual and collective strengths of ICL and DMR Consulting under the common Fujitsu brand.

"Major global-minded enterprises and organizations are increasingly looking to vendors who can provide comprehensive, leading-edge IT solutions on a consistent worldwide basis but with an intimate knowledge of and attentiveness to local customer needs," said Naoyuki Akikusa, President & CEO of Fujitsu Limited. "As key pillars of our global solutions strategy in Europe, Middle East & Africa and North America, ICL and DMR Consulting are known and trusted by customers for their technical expertise and high-quality services. I believe that now is the right time to build on these values by shifting ICL and DMR to the Fujitsu corporate name and working under a unified brand and common mindset to deliver a full range of globally consistent yet locally attuned services to satisfy customer needs in the future."

The corporate name changes, which are scheduled to be completed in the current fiscal year ending March 2002, are also intended to take advantage of Fujitsu's three-year, $500 million global corporate brand advertising campaign, now entering its second phase. In conjunction with the first phase of the global brand initiative, ICL and DMR Consulting last year both adopted the descriptor "A Fujitsu Company" as part of their corporate logos. Details regarding the newly announced corporate renaming, including the new company names and rollout schedule for particular operations in different countries, will be announced in September.

"ICL welcomes this decision to migrate to the Fujitsu corporate name and relishes the challenge to play an even more integral role in Fujitsu's long-term global IT services strategy," said Richard Christou, chief executive of ICL. "It means not only that customers will be able to access broader, integrated IT capabilities but also represents tremendous opportunities for ICL employees as we work more closely together with our colleagues across the group to strengthen Fujitsu's position as one of the world's largest IT companies."

Michael Poehner, President and CEO of DMR Consulting, stated: "We enthusiastically support this initiative. A tighter alignment of DMR Consulting with the Fujitsu brand will generate considerable synergy among employees worldwide, accelerate the sharing of our intellectual capital to the benefit of our clients, and enable us to continue our dramatic growth through an expanded business base. As Fujitsu becomes a more closely-knit family of companies, our organizations are well-positioned for even greater success in this competitive, increasingly global marketplace."

Along with the change in company names, Fujitsu intends to step up collaborative efforts to exploit technology and expertise from across the group for globally active customers grappling with the dynamic changes of the Internet era. Recent examples of these sorts of key business initiatives include:
  • InfraCare(TM), the Fujitsu group's globally available single IT infrastructure service, encompassing everything from managed services through to full outsourcing for the data center, network and desktop.
  • Fujitsu's Global Mobile offering, which provides a broad range of services for global and regional telecommunications operators, from consultancy and design through to mobile applications, infrastructure and support.
"With over 60,000 services and software professionals worldwide - including 30,000 outside Japan - and a unique combination of fundamental strengths in Internet-focused technologies, communications and computing platforms, and services, Fujitsu is one of very few companies in the world with the depth and breadth to be able to provide a one-stop solutions source to customers with local and global needs," said Yuji Hirose, president of Fujitsu's Software & Services Business Group. "Renaming and extending collaboration with ICL and DMR Consulting will help ensure that customers the world over can more clearly recognize and benefit from all that Fujitsu has to offer."
