Tokyo, March 29, 2001---
Fujitsu Limited and Cisco Systems K.K. today announced that they have agreed to offer joint systems solutions combining Fujitsu's Interstage software platform and Cisco's network equipment starting June 29th. The joint solutions will initially be offered for customers in the Japanese market, with global sales to follow.
With the Internet becoming an integral part of business activity, requirements are increasing for network systems with higher speed, capacity and reliability, as well as a variety of different types of connections. Especially in mission critical operations, sophisticated technology that is able to maintain high levels of security and ensure non-stop operation is essential.
In preparation for offering solutions that will respond to these needs, the two companies have been working together to verify specific solutions combining Fujitsu's Interstage software with Cisco's network equipment.
Aimed at offering joint solutions with superior reliability, the agreement between the two companies includes the following provisions:

- | A validation center will be established in June at a Fujitsu site for joint investigation on the connectivity of the two company's products under various conditions. |
- | Starting June 29th, the two companies will begin offering joint solutions that combine their products for constructing Internet-based core business systems and which address the increasingly critical areas of Load Balancing, Quality of Services, Security, and User Login Certification. |
- | The two companies will jointly engage in sales promotion activities, including production of promotional tools such as catalogs. |
