Fujitsu and SAP Sign Global Technology Partner Agreement

-- mySAP.com on Fujitsu's PRIMEPOWER UNIX and PRIMERGY IA servers is powerful combination to expand e-business solutions globally --

Tokyo, January 23, 2001--- Fujitsu Limited announced today that it has entered into a Global Technology Partner Agreement with SAP AG (Walldorf, Germany) to support SAP's leading e-business platform, mySAP.com (*1), and its various cross-industry and industry solutions. mySAP.com Global Partner-Technology status is awarded to only a few platform vendor companies whom SAP regards as capable of supporting mySAP.com globally and who also fulfill SAP's strict criteria for Global Partners.

The agreement between the companies acknowledges the reputation Fujitsu's global PRIMEPOWER (UNIX) and PRIMERGY (IA) server platforms have earned for their high performance, reliability and availability. In November 2000, PRIMEPOWER achieved a world record for an SAP Standard Application Benchmark (*2), confirming the high transaction performance of PRIMEPOWER.

This Fujitsu / SAP partnership builds on the success of the long-standing Fujitsu Siemens Computers and SAP Global Technology Partnership. The new agreement will enable Fujitsu and its group companies in Asia and the Pacific, Fujitsu Technology Solutions (FTS) in North America and Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) in Europe, Middle East and Africa to provide an even wider range of e-business solutions globally in cooperation with SAP.

Fujitsu and its group companies will also be able to make efficient use of their worldwide network to deliver rapid technical support and cooperate in promoting sales. This support will come from the International Fujitsu / SAP Competence Center founded at SAP AG (Walldorf, Germany) and other competence centers located in regional Fujitsu group companies.

In addition, Fujitsu and SAP will work together on promotions and joint marketing and lead generation, such as demonstrations at exhibitions and carrying out customer seminars.

"SAP is pleased that Fujitsu has met the criteria to become a mySAP Global Technology Partner. Fujitsu is SAP's first Asian-based Global Partner and SAP is delighted to work together on coordinating product advances and reducing time-to-market of new solutions," said Karl-Heinz Hess, Member of the Extended Executive Board, SAP AG.

"Fujitsu is very excited to be able to promote the world class solutions offered by SAP and its e-business platform mySAP.com throughout the Fujitsu group," said Mr. Takashi Aoki, Group President Computer Systems Group, Fujitsu Limited. "It is our intention to win Business Critical Computing accounts around the world and this partnership with SAP is the ideal way to do it."
