Tokyo, October 3, 2000 -- Fujitsu Limited today introduced the fi-4750C, a new model color image scanner in its fi Series optimized for Optical Character Reader (OCR*1) and electronic filing system applications. Sales begin on October 3 in Japan and around November
overseas.
In recent years, the proliferation of corporate-use color printers
has led to an increase in impressive color documents in a variety
of sizes. The transfer of information from paper to electronic media
has also been proceeding at a rapid pace as companies strive to
simplify their document management procedures. This has led to the
need for color image scanners that can process large amounts of
data and handle many sizes of paper.
Fujitsu's new fi-4750C is a flat bed color machine with a duplex
A3-compatible Auto Document Feeder (ADF*2) as standard equipment.
It has the fastest scanning speed in its class. In addition to
high-speed one-pass (no over-turning) duplex scanning, it has a
double-feed detection function, which prevents the problem of data
loss that can occur when more than one page is fed at the same time.
When used for OCR operations, the selectable drop-out color (red,
green or blue) function (*3) allows the scanner to handle a wide
variety of business forms.
Fujitsu will continue to broaden the fi-Series color scanner line-up,
while striving to maintain its leading position in the world scanner
market.
Shipment in Japan will commence October 31 and in overseas around
