Fujitsu Introduces New DynaMO SF Series Magneto-Optical Drives
-Increased performance and durability offers superior storage choice-

DynaMO SF Tokyo, July 18, 2000 -- Fujitsu Limited today announced that it is expanding its magneto-optical (MO) product line with the new DynaMO SF series. The new SF series, which includes the DynaMO 1300SF, a 1.3GB external SCSI MO drive, and the DynaMO 640SF, a 640MB external SCSI MO drive, offers higher performance and is more resistant to dust in comparison with the previous SD/SE series. The DynaMO SF series will be available worldwide beginning July 19 and will be on display at the MacWorld Expo in New York July 19-21 (booth #142).

The new SF drives join the currently shipping DynaMO FE series, the 1.3GB/640MB MO drives with FireWire interface, offering customers some of the most reliable and cost-effective sources of high-capacity removable storage in the industry. With its sleek and compact design the DynaMO MO family is the best choice for data archiving, data transferring and secure document storage even under extreme conditions. It is also an ideal solution for use in audio, video and intensive graphic applications.

MO media can be rewritten an unlimited number of times and used for a broad range of applications, while providing a high level of investment protection and affordability.

DynaMO 1300SF/640SF
The DynaMO 1300SF and DynaMO 640SF drives boast a high data transfer rate of up to 5.92MB/sec and fast access times of 23ms, due to enhancements in cache algorithm and ultralight assembly mechanism.
The new series out-performs previous models by approximately 30% (1.3GB model) and 15% (640MB model), and dust resistance has doubled.
It also supports Ultra SCSI interface of 20MB/s.

As with all of Fujitsu's MO drives, both DynaMO 1300SF and 640SF are read/write compatible with all ISO-compliant 3.5" MO media (capacities of 640MB, 540MB, 230MB and 128MB), allowing wide media selection on the most rugged removable disks. DynaMO 1300SF can also read/write to 1.3GB GIGAMO-standard media.
