Fujitsu Introduces New English Environment Notebook PC for Japanese Market

-LifeBook E351 features Windows 98, 13.3-inch LCD and Pentium II processor-

lifebook Tokyo, April 27, 1999 -- Fujitsu Limited today began marketing in Japan a new English-language model in its popular LifeBook Series of notebook PCs. Equipped with Microsoft Windows 98 (English version), a high-speed Pentium II processor and a large 13.3-inch LCD display, the new LifeBook E351 conforms to both Japanese and overseas standards and will be supported by Fujitsu affiliates in 22 countries around the world.

Fujitsu has been working closely with its group companies overseas to promote common PC platforms and provide customers with internationally competitive notebook PCs. The LifeBook E351 is targeted at corporate assignees from other countries and other customers who wish to work in an English PC environment in Japan. The LifeBook E351 will also be sold by Fujitsu PC Corporation in the U.S., Fujitsu Computers (Europe) Limited in Europe and Fujitsu PC (Asia) Pte. Limited in Asia.

In common with notebooks in the LifeBook Series, the LifeBook E351 has a US101-type keyboard and two front-bay configuration with superior expandability. Its 13.3-inch XGA TFT LCD, high-speed CPU and 64 MB of memory are ideal for use with Windows 98. Moreover, for the convenience of corporate users, the new model can also support a LAN environment.

Expanding upon its previously established technical support and repair network in Japan and the U.S., Fujitsu will support the LifeBook E351 in 22 countries accross the globe. Conformance to industry standards in Japan, the U.S., Europe and Asia, together with the coordinated support provided by various Fujitsu group companies worldwide, offers LifeBook E351 users peace-of-mind wherever they may use their computers.

As another step toward enhancing its global PC customer support structure and services, Fujitsu will now also provide support in Japan for customers who have purchased LifeBook Series computers overseas.
