This new SAP benchmark record was achieved using a combination of the latest Fujitsu 675MHz SPARC®64 GP processors, PRIMEPOWER's ability to scale beyond competitive open system servers, the powerful and reliable Solaris operating environment, and Oracle, the world's leading database.

"Proving our credentials with major application benchmarks in this way is something that we believe will continue to boost the sales of our high availability PRIMEPOWER servers," said Mr. Takashi Aoki, Group President of Fujitsu's Computer Systems Group. "Importantly PRIMEPOWER continues to win top honors in a range of benchmarks covering user access, raw power and transaction performance. Our striving for hardware excellence and open system's adherence demonstrably makes PRIMEPOWER the best choice when building solutions that empower customer organizations."

"We are absolutely delighted that Fujitsu has made such an effort to regain its crown in the SAP SD two-tier Standard Application benchmark together with the unbreakable Oracle9i Database. Once again Fujitsu has proven that it is one of the world's leading providers of powerful UNIX high-end servers for the most demanding customers," added Simon Stow, Senior Director, Oracle9i marketing.

This latest SAP 2 tier SD benchmark performance win by Fujitsu was also an example of how international cooperation is boosting Fujitsu's global business capabilities. Showing their global service competence and expertise, both Fujitsu Japan and Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the joint venture between Fujitsu and Siemens in Europe, contributed to the result. The engineers at Fujitsu's Numazu factory prepared the test equipment; while a combination of system experts, including specialists from the Fujitsu Siemens SAP competence center in Germany set up and ran the benchmark.
