FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fujitsu's GP7000F Unix Servers Achieve Performance Record with SAP R/3 SD Benchmark

Tokyo, March 30, 2000 - Fujitsu Limited today announced that its technology-leading GP7000F SPARC64 GP processor-based enterprise server has achieved a performance record with the SAP R/3 SD Benchmark. SAP AG has certified a record 3,000 Sales and Distribution users in a 2-tier environment on for a GP7000F M2000 with 64 CPUs running SAP R/3 4.0B.

This record opens up a huge gap between the Fujitsu server's performance and previous certified benchmark results for two tier (Client/Server) configurations, thus demonstrating the tremendous power and scalability of the GP7000F product for enterprise business processing.

"This is a very pleasing result," said Isao Suzuki, Senior Vice President and Group President, Marketing Group, Fujitsu Limited. "We have engineered our GP7000F servers for global deployment through our group companies and affiliates around the world, and we are actively working with industry leading software vendors like SAP to deliver real and quantifiable benefits to our customers."

The GP7000F M2000 is currently the biggest system in Fujitsu's GP7000F series and can support up to 64 330MHz SPARC64 GP processors with 8MB secondary cache and a 64-way interleaved memory subsystem of up to 64GB. It runs the Solaris operating system and can manage up to 15 partitions, 96 PCI slots, redundant power supply sub-systems, power feed options, redundant cooling subsystems and hot replacement of redundant features. Add in its clustering ability and Fujitsu's wealth of experience in mainframe manufacture, and levels of 99.999% availability are to be expected with these servers.

Fujitsu Limited in Japan and Fujitsu Siemens Computers in Europe, together with other group companies, are coordinating their business and marketing strategies to offer customers in every region of the world a real choice of server platforms in the important and well-established Solaris Unix marketplace. Benchmarking activity such as the SAP R/3 SD certification is but one area in which this cooperation is being realized.

Specifically, the SAP standard application benchmarks certification confirmation certificate ( No. 20D0004) received for the GP7000F M2000 states the following:

The SAP standard 4.0 application benchmark performed on February 28, 2000 by Fujitsu Siemens Computers in Paderborn, Germany was certified on March 1, 2000 with the following data:
